WEEKEND AT THE CHATEAU
Saturday 28th August – Sunday 29th August
Ever wanted to stay at the Chateau, sit in the luxury of an arm chair, as the fire roars, you sip on a mulled wine, enjoy dinner together in the restaurant, and wake up to the mountain in the morning? Well this is the weekend escape for you. For those who wish to get lots of fresh air into their lungs there is the additional option of leaving Auckland earlier and skiing.
Note that the train does not leave National Park on Mon/Tue or Wednes.
Meet: Britomart train station - 7:00am for a 7:25am (prompt) departure (Those wanting free parking in the city for the weekend please advise (spaces limited). Train arrives at National Park at 12:50. We are collected and then transferred (free of charge) to the Chateau. Train departs National Park at 2:30pm on the Sunday arriving back in Auckland at 8:10pm.
Bring: Everything you want for a weekend at the Chateau. Something nice to wear to dinner that night. Some snacks/drinks for the train.
Cancellation: No cancellations - if it is raining or the mountain is closed then you will be able to sit by the fire at the Chateau, sip on a mulled wine, read your book or the paper and enjoy the surrounds.
Approx Costs: $118pp (accommodation), $100 (return train) + meal/drink/skiing costs (train tickets: book yourself online at www.transcenic.co.nz (Note: senior's and Southern Cross members get a special rate)
Deposit: $118 to be paid no later than 1 August 2010. Please include your name and activity in the payment details.
Accommodation: Staying at the Chateau premium room is $118 pp share twin (includes breakfast) at the Chateau.
Those wishing to make their way down a day or two earlier by train may do so and simply need to advise me how many nights accommodation they require.
Numbers are limited. Those wishing to attend should express their interest to Sonya no later than 20 July to ensure a place.
