  About Us

The Thumbs Up Adventure Club was formed in 1993 by 2 people who wanted to have a go at some of the more extreme activities offered in New Zealand. They were keen to experience these activities with other people who were trying them for the first time and might need a bit of encouragement. And so the Thumbs Up Adventure Club was created to provide an environment where members felt able to stretch themselves and have a go at things they may not have dreamed they were capable of.

The thought of jumping out of an airplane and free falling for 30 seconds can be terrifying for a lot of people. However, with the help and encouragement of other members, several people have done just that.

We are a non-profit organisation and only ask a small membership fee of $50 to cover the cost of producing and distributing the monthly newsletter. Renewal in the following years is then just $40. The newsletter gives details of the activities planned for the next 2 months. There are no surcharges added to events. The cost of the activity is the ACTUAL cost to Thumbs Up.
